about

Klondike man is a story about roaming the wild seeking your fortune. Trying to find a way to make something out of nothing. Looking for the treasure you can bring home to your family and the love of your life. It’s a story full of romantic imagery and it’s one of the songs I’ve written that is truly close to my heart. I wrote it a few years back when I was just starting to gig around town. A friend of mine got me a gig at a venue downtown and I took it knowing I wasn’t prepared. I had to fill 3 hours at this venue from 10PM to 1AM and I was sitting on about 4 songs. So the week before I just learned a bunch of covers and tried to write some tunes, and “Klondike Man” is one of them that just came along - I was so proud when I wrote this one. For some reason I connected with it so much as it was my first time trying to make it in the big city and making my own music. I also just love the song - the story and singing it makes me happy.

lyrics

Tell my mama, i’ll be gone
I’ll be back home before long
..Long, before long
Tell my papa, i’ll be good
But he better knock on wood.
..Wood knock, on wood
I’m a Klondike Man
Get as rich as I can with my tin pan
Tell my brother, in the fall
I’ll be back to bring home the haul
..haul, bring the haul
Tell my sister, knock em out
When them bad boys start to shout
..shout, just knock em out
I’m yukon bound, when i’m back in town
Gonna be the richest man around

Tell my baby, I love her so
When I’m back I’ll bring her silver and gold
Gold, A band of gold
Well I’m yukon bound, when i’m back in town
Gonna be the richest man around

I’m a Klondike Man
Get as rich as I can with my tin pan
